Le gouvernement a donné son aval pour la promulgation National Identity Card Regulations 2024, National Identity Card (Card Usage) Regulations 2024 et National Identity Card (Mobile ID) Regulations 2024.
Cabinet has agreed to the promulgation of the National Identity Card Regulations 2024, the National Identity Card (Card Usage) Regulations 2024 and the National Identity Card (Mobile ID) Regulations 2024. The Regulations provide for, inter alia:
(a)
new measures and features in the new National Identity Card System;
(b)
the required legal framework to enable the use of electronic devices and appropriate software, as prescribed in the schedules, for the electronic reading of data on the ID Card and from the Mobile ID; and
(c) the use of the electronic version of the ID Card (Mobile ID) stored in a mobile app (digital wallet) which could be downloaded on a smart mobile device, instead of using the conventional ID Card.
(a)
