Balance of Visible Trade showed a deficit of Rs 14,778 million in July 2023, higher by 6.3% compared to the previous month and lower by 3.1% compared to the corresponding month of 2022.
In July 2023, total imports increased by 6.2% compared to June 2023 and decreased by 2.1% compared to July 2022 whereas In July 2023, total exports increased by 6.1% compared to June 2023 and decreased by 0.3% compared to July 2022.
In July 2023, South Africa (10.8%), United Kingdom (9.6%), United States (9.2%), France (8.6%), Spain (7.4%) and Viet Nam (7.1%) were our major exports destinations while our imports were mainly from China (16.3%), South Africa (10.4%), France (8.6%), India (7.9%), Oman (7.3%) and U.A.E. (5.1%).
