Karate Combat 46 strikes Dubai

In a groundbreaking move set to elevate Dubai’s status as a global sports tourism hotspot, Karate Combat, in partnership with the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) and Dubai Sports Council (DSC), announces the arrival of Karate Combat 46 (KC46) to the emirate this spring. Expected to be the league’s largest event to date, KC46 will coincide with TOKEN2049 Week Dubai, integrating martial arts prowess with the world of cryptocurrency and tourism.

Karate Combat, renowned as the world’s premier full-contact professional striking league, will showcase its electrifying action on Saturday, 20th April, captivating audiences amidst the grandeur of Dubai’s iconic landscape. Spearheaded by UFC Hall of Famers Georges St-Pierre (GSP) and Bas Rutten, alongside Mike Majlak, the event promises a convergence of athleticism and innovation.

This collaboration marks a significant milestone as Karate Combat becomes the first professional sports league governed and gamified by a token, the $KARATE token, amplifying fan engagement and participation. KC46’s integration into TOKEN2049 Week, the largest Web3 gathering in the emirate, further underscores Dubai’s embrace of cutting-edge technologies and global events.

Leading up to the main event, the league plans to captivate spectators with special events at Dubai’s renowned landmarks, including a fighters’ press conference at the Museum of the Future and thrilling face-offs against the backdrop of the Dubai Frame. Notably, Karate Combat’s trademark 3D VFX background will showcase Dubai’s skyline in a mesmerizing futuristic portrayal.

Asim Zaidi, President of Karate Combat League, expressed enthusiasm, stating, « Our event in Dubai will absolutely break the internet! Nobody entertains like we do, and with DET and DSC’s support, we’re about to shake up the world of combat sports. »

Ahmed Al Khaja, CEO of Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment, emphasized the event’s significance in bolstering Dubai’s position as a premier sports tourism destination, aligning with the emirate’s ambitious economic agenda.

His Excellency Saeed Hareb, Secretary General of Dubai Sports Council, echoed similar sentiments, highlighting Dubai’s commitment to fostering a thriving sports ecosystem and providing a platform for global sporting excellence.

With its fusion of martial arts spectacle, cryptocurrency innovation, and tourism allure, Karate Combat 46 promises to be a landmark event, showcasing Dubai’s unwavering commitment to pushing the boundaries of entertainment and athleticism on a global stage.
