Le Bureau du DPP a émis un communiqué en seconde partie de la journée du 16 novembre 2023 pour annoncer que la décision de poursuivre sous les Section 19(1)(a) et (3)(a) de la Children Act cela couplé avec la section 8(1)(a) de la Children’s Court Act 2020, l’accusé sous treize chefs d’accusation.
Sec.19(1)(a)
19. Causing, inciting or allowing child under 16 to be sexually abused
(1) No person shall –
(a) sexually abuse a child under the age of 16;
Sec.(3)(a)
(3) Any person who commits an offence under subsection
(1)shall, on conviction, be liable –
(a) where the child is physically or mentally handicapped, to penal servitude for a term not exceeding 30 years;

8. Jurisdiction of, and proceedings before, Criminal Division
(1) The Criminal Division shall, notwithstanding any other enactment, have jurisdiction to hear and determine –
(a) in the case of a child victim, any criminal offence specified in Part I of the Schedule which is committed on the child;
