Weather Outlook on the evolution of Tropical Storm BHEKI

The Moderate Tropical Storm BHEKI has intensified into a Severe Tropical Storm and 10h00 today(15 November 2024), it was located near 11.3 degrees south and 75.3 degrees east.

Weather Outlook:
Severe Tropical Storm BHEKI is evolving in favourable environmental conditions and the latest Numerical Weather Models are indicating that BHEKI may further intensify. It is expected to move in a general southwesterly direction and approach the Mascarenes.

As from Sunday 17, the wind will gradually strengthen at Rodrigues with gusts of the order of 90 km/h. The sea at Rodrigues will also become gradually rough to very rough with swells.

If the track is maintained, Bheki will be in the vicinity of Mauritius by the middle of next week. The weather will then become showery and wind will strengthen with gusts of the order of 80 km/h in Mauritius. Sea will become rough to very rough with swells.
