SBI (Mauritius) Ltd partners with 8 NGOs to drive CSR Initiatives

SBI (Mauritius) Ltd, committed to community development, held a CSR Cheque Presentation Ceremony at its Head Office in Ebene on the 22nd November 2024. The event celebrated the bank’s ongoing efforts to support impactful initiatives that positively transform lives across Mauritius.

As part of its mission to create meaningful change, SBI (Mauritius) Ltd partnered with eight dedicated NGOs. These partnerships focus on critical areas such as health, education, environmental sustainability, and social welfare, reflecting the bank’s holistic approach to fostering long-term societal growth. With an amount of MUR 1,500,000, SBI (Mauritius) Ltd is proud to contribute to projects that address key challenges and uplift communities across the island. During the ceremony, representatives from selected NGOs received cheques to aid their impactful initiatives.

The key beneficiaries include:
•Link to Life: Supporting cancer awareness campaigns to educate and assist communities in early detection and prevention.
•CANMA (Cancer Association of Mauritius): Funding the mobile cancer screening unit that provides early cancer detection services across the island.
•SOS Children’s Village: Supporting the operational costs of providing care to over 40 vulnerable families.
•Enn Rev Enn Sourir: Facilitating medical treatment for children in India.
•Mauritian Wildlife Foundation: Contributing to the Mauritian Fody Conservation Project, aimed at preserving biodiversity.
•Ecosud: Supporting coral restoration and the promotion of sustainable agroecology practices.
•Friends of the Environment: Supporting the re-vegetation project of the Citadelle
•Caritas Rodrigues: Supporting the Centre of Learning for vulnerable children in Rodrigues

The Managing Director & CEO of SBI (Mauritius) Ltd, Mr Somnath Adhya, emphasized the bank’s commitment to being a responsible corporate citizen:
