On the Monday, January 6, the U.S. Embassy in Port Louis had the honor of welcoming President of the Republic of Mauritius Dharam Gokhool; Vice President of the Republic of Mauritius Jean Yvan Robert Hungley; Prime Minister Dr. Navinchandra Ramgoolam; and Minister of Foreign Affairs Dhananjay Ramful, to the Embassy to sign our Condolence Book honoring the memory of U.S. President Jimmy Carter.
Ambassador Henry V. Jardine escorted the distinguished guests and thanked them for their presence and sincere tributes to the 39th President of the United States.
In memory of U.S. President Jimmy Carter, a Condolence book is open again at the U.S. Embassy in Port Louis as from Tuesday, January 7, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, and Wednesday, January 8, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. The Embassy will be closed on Thursday, January 9, for the Day of Mourning.
The U.S. Embassy invites government officials, dignitaries, and members of the public to share their condolences and memories of President Carter.
Lundi 6 janvier, les plus hautes autorités mauriciennes ont signé le livre de condoléances pour Jimmy Carter à l’ambassade américaine à Port-Louis.
Le livre reste ouvert les mardi 7 et mercredi 8 janvier 2024, pour permettre au public de rendre hommage au 39ème président des États-Unis.
L’ambassade sera fermée jeudi 9 janvier, jour de deuil national.
