Shakeel Mohamed and Dr Abdulfattah Suleiman Mashat

Shakeel Mohamed, Minister of Housing & Lands, who is also responsible for the organisation of Hajj, held a productive meeting with the Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Dr. Abdulfattah Suleiman Mashat, on Sunday, 12th January 2025, in Jeddah.

During this meeting, Dr. Abdulfattah Suleiman Mashat extended his heartfelt congratulations on the recent victory in the general elections and expressed gratitude for the Honorable Shakeel Mohamed’s presence at the meeting.

Minister Shakeel Mohamed was accompanied by Mr. Shamad Ayood Saab, Senior Chief Executive of the Ministry of Housing and Lands, who is also Acting Chairman of the Islamic Cultural Centre, and Mr. Yasseen Hansrod from the Mauritian Embassy in Riyadh.

Discussions focused on matters relating to the organization of the forthcoming Hajj. Minister Shakeel Mohamed presented key requests aimed at benefiting all future pilgrims and ensuring a seamless pilgrimage process.

Minister Shakeel Mohamed also took the opportunity to convey his profound appreciation to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for its unwavering support to the Republic of Mauritius. He specifically acknowledged the Kingdom’s generous financing of major infrastructure projects, which have significantly contributed to Mauritius’s development.

Later today, Minister Shakeel Mohamed is scheduled to meet with His Excellency Dr. Tawfiq bin Fawaz Al Rabeesh, Minister of Hajj and Umrah, to continue discussions on enhancing bilateral cooperation in Hajj and other related matters.
