
The Consumer Price Index, which stood at 103.4 in September 2024, registered a net increase of 0.1 point (or +0.1%) to reach 103.5 in December 2024.
The main contributors for the net increase in the CPI from September to December 2024 were:
– higher prices of cooking oil (+0.1 point);
– higher prices of some medicinal products (+0.1 point) and higher clinic fees
– (+0.1 point);
– higher prices of some prepared foods (+0.1 point);
– higher prices of other goods and services (+0.2 point);
partly offset by
– lower prices of whisky (-0.1 point);
– lower interest rates on housing loan (-0.1 point);
– lower prices of gasolene (-0.3 point).
The headline inflation rate was 3.6% for year 2024 compared to 7.0% for year 2023.
L’Indice des prix à la consommation, qui s’élevait à 103,4 en septembre 2024, a enregistré une augmentation nette de 0,1 point (ou +0,1 %) pour atteindre 103,5 en décembre 2024.
Le taux d’inflation global était de 3,6 % pour l’année 2024, contre 7,0 % pour l’année 2023.
