Des routes fermés ou à sens unique pour les célébrations du 12 mars 2025

La Mauritius Police Force a publié un communiqué pour informer les usager de la route que plusieurs doutes et rues ne seront pas totalement libres de circulation le 12 mars 2025 dans la capitale.

By Section 181 of the Road Tra?c Act, tra?c arrangements will be made on Tuesday 11 March 2025 and Wednesday 12 March 2025 in connection with State Visit and the National Day Celebrations 2025.

TRAFFIC SCHEME IN PORT-LOUIS ON 12 MARCH 2025
CLOSURE OF ROAD AS FROM 0930 HOURS
(i) Mgr Gonin from its junction with Atchia Street to its junction with D’Estaing Street;
(ii) Sir Virgil Naz from its junction with Bourbon Street to its junction with Pope Hennessy Street;
(iii) Maillard Street from its junction with Poudriere Street to its junction with Pope Hennessy Street;
(iv) Lislet Geo?roy Street from its junction with Poudriere Street to its junction with Pope Hennessy Street;
(v) Lislet Geo?roy Street from its junction with Mgr Gonin Street to its junction with Pope Hennessy Street; and
(vi) Su?ren Street from its junction with Mgr Gonin Street to its junction with Pope Hennessy Street.

ONE WAY STREET AS FROM 0930 HOURS
(i) Pope Hennessy Street towards Champ de Mars from its junction with Labourdonnais Street up to D’Estaing Street;
(ii) D’Estaing Street from corner Pope Hennessy Street to Eugene Laurent towards Eugene Laurent Street (LHS);
(iii) D’Estaing Street from corner Pope Hennessy Street to Frere Felix de Valois Street – One way towards Frere Felix de Valois Street;
(iv) Frere Felix de Valois Street towards Chateau D’Eau from junction with D’Estaing Street up to Port Louis SSS (Abdul Hamid Golam Mohamed Issac SSS) (Parking left side only);
(v) Herschell Street from the direction of Eugene Laurent Street towards Shakespeare Street;
(vi) Shakespeare Street from the direction of Herchell Street towards Boulevard Victoria Street;
(vii) Corneille Street towards Sebastopol Street from its junction with Eugene Laurent; and
(viii) Swami Sivananda Street towards Frere Felix de Valois Street from its junction with Vishnu Kchetra Street with left hand side parking only.

ROUTES FOR THE GENERAL PUBLIC & SPECIAL ROUTE BUSES
(i) GENERAL PUBLIC
Vehicles coming from Place D’Armes and proceeding to Champ de Mars will use Royal Street – Bourbon Street – Mgr Gonin Street – turn right onto Atchia Street on contra?ow – Labourdonnais Street – Frere Felix de Valois Street.
(ii) SPECIAL ROUTE BUSES
(a) Buses coming from the North will proceed via Plaine Verte, Vallee Pitot, Ex-Military Road and to park along Chateau D’Eau Street;
(b) Buses coming along Motorway, from the South, will emerge onto autopont onto Old Moka Road, Mgr Leen Street, Labourdonnais Street , Nehru Street, Mahatma Gandhi Street, Vishnu Kchetra Street, Swami Sivananda Street and Frere Felix de Valois Street; and
(c) Those coming from the direction of A1 “GNRW” will proceed along Bell Village, Mgr Leen Street, Labourdonnais Street, Nehru Street Mahatma Gandhi Street, Vishnu Kchetra Street, Swami Sivananda Street and Frere Felix de Valois Street.

PARKING FOR BUSES AND CARS
(a) Buses will be parked along Chateau D’Eau Street, Dauguet and Volcy Pougnet Street (La Rue Madame); and
(b) Cars will be parked along St Denis Street, La Poudriere Street, Frere Felix de Valois Street on left hand side facing Dauguet.

PROHIBITED PARKING AS FROM 0600 HOURS
(i) Eugene Laurent Street from its junction with D’Estaing Street to that with Boulevard Victoria Street (Ex Military Road);
(ii) Corneille Street from its junction with Eugene Laurent Street to that of Shakespeare Street;
(iii) Pope Hennessy Street, Jules Koenig Street and Intendance Street; Mgr Gonin and Atchia Street.
7. ROUTE IN FOR CARD HOLDERS
Motorway – North and South bounds – Place D’Armes – turn right towards Chausse Street – Intendance Street on contra?ow– Jules Koenig Street – Pope Hennessy Street – turn left onto D’Estaing Street – Eugene Laurent Street.

Green card holders will turn right onto D’Estaing Street Frere Felix de Valois Street and park at Taher Bhagh.

PARKING FOR RED CARD HOLDERS
(i) Parking for Red card holders – G.M.D. Atchia SSS
(ii) Parking for Blue card holders – Shakespeare St
(iii) Parking for Yellow card holders – Corneille St; and
(iv) Parking for Green card holders – TaherBagh

WAY OUT FOR CARD HOLDERS
(i) Red Card Holders – Eugene Laurent Street – D’Estaing Street – Pope Hennessy Street – Jules Koenig Street– Intendence Street onto
Motorway; and
(ii) Others – Eugene Laurent Street – SSR Street – Jules Koenig Street – Intendance Street onto Motorway.

10. The public is further informed that to facilitate the passage of official motorcades, temporary traffic schemes will be implemented along speciffied itineraries on Tuesday 11 and Wednesday 12 March 2025. Police officers will be present to regulate traffic and guide motorists.

JUDICIAL PROCEEDINGS
Non-compliance with these traffic arrangements will entail judicial proceedings.
