Huit accords ont été signés, couvrant divers secteurs.

Le Premier ministre mauricien, Dr Navinchandra Ramgoolam, et le Premier ministre indien, Shri Narendra Modi, ont présidé une cérémonie d’échange de plusieurs protocoles d’accord (MoUs) à Port-Louis.

L’événement a également été marqué par la remise de la carte de navigation de Saint-Brandon à Maurice et l’inauguration électronique de projets bilatéraux.

Le Premier ministreNarendra Modi, invité d’honneur pour les célébrations de la Fête nationale 2025, a souligné les liens culturels et les valeurs partagées entre les deux pays. Les deux dirigeants ont annoncé l’élévation du partenariat Inde-Maurice à un partenariat stratégique renforcé, avec de nouveaux projets de soutien indien, notamment la construction d’un nouveau Parlement.

L’Inde a réaffirmé son soutien à la souveraineté de Maurice sur l’archipel des Chagos et son engagement envers la sécurité de la Zone économique exclusive (ZEE) de Maurice. Le Premier ministre Modi a également présenté sa vision « MAHASAGAR » pour le Sud global.

Le Premier ministre Ramgoolam a souligné l’importance de l’assistance indienne pour le développement socio-économique de Maurice et a exprimé sa gratitude pour le soutien de l’Inde concernant la souveraineté de Maurice.

Huit accords ont été signés, couvrant divers secteurs tels que la lutte contre la criminalité, la surveillance du trafic maritime, l’infrastructure, la diplomatie, le commerce, le renforcement des capacités, la finance et l’économie océanique.

Le Centre de santé de Cap Malheureux et 20 petits projets de développement, financés par l’Inde, ont été inaugurés par voie électronique.

Mauritian and Indian Prime Ministers Ramgoolam and Modi presided over a ceremony in Port Louis, exchanging MoUs and inaugurating several India-funded projects, including a new Parliament.

India reaffirmed its support for Mauritius’ sovereignty over the Chagos Archipelago and its EEZ, while Modi unveiled his « MAHASAGAR » vision.

Eight agreements covering diverse sectors were signed, strengthening the bilateral strategic partnership.

• MoU between the Financial Crimes Commission (Mauritius) and the Central Bureau of Investigation (India);
• MoU between the Financial Crimes Commission (Mauritius) and the Directorate of Enforcement (India);
• A Technical Agreement on the sharing of White Shipping Information between the Indian Navy and the Mauritius Police Force;
• A Credit Facility Agreement between the Government of Mauritius and the State Bank of India to finance projects being implemented by the Central Water Authority under the Pipe Replacement Programme;
• MoU between the Sushma Swaraj Institute of Foreign Service in New Delhi, India, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration and International Trade of the Republic of Mauritius, for exchange of information on the structure and content of training programme for diplomats, amongst others;
• MoU between the Ministry of Industry, SME and Cooperatives and the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises of the Republic of India with a view to developing micro, small and medium enterprises in the respective countries.
• MoU between the Ministry of Public Service and Administrative Reforms of Mauritius and the National Centre of Good Governance on the training of public officers.
• MoU between the Department for Continental Shelf, Maritime Zones Administration and Exploration and the Indian National Centre for Ocean Information Services.
E-Inauguration of bilateral projects
The Area Health Centre of Cap Malheureux and 20 Small Development Projects, all funded by the Government of India, were jointly inaugurated online by the two Prime Ministers.
