A sales exhibition aiming to promote locally manufactured products and enhancing the visibility of women entrepreneurs, was launched, yesterday, in presence of the Minister of Industrial Development, SMEs and Cooperatives, Soomilduth Bholah, at the Esplanade of Emmanuel Anquetil Building in Port Louis.
This initiative of the Mauritius Women Entrepreneurs Cooperative Federation Ltd also marks its 16th Anniversary.
The main objectives of the sales exhibition are to enable women entrepreneurs to market and sell their products and provide a platform for potential buyers and sellers. It will promote the savoir faire of women entrepreneurs among the public as well as enable them generate additional orders.
Products that were sold include: indian sweets, spices, pickles, crystallised fruits, potted plants, Rodriguan specialities, dreamcatchers, crochet, organic soap, fancy jewellery, glass and fabric paintings, macramé, scented candles, pyrography, and eco bags, amongst others.
Textile products such as table cloth, table runners, kitchen sets, garments, and hand embroidered products were also proposed to customers.
