Pravind Kumar Jugnauth, Prime Minister of the Republic of Mauritius, and Rishi Sunak, Prime Minister of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, met today, 9th september 2023, in New Delhi in the margins of the G20 Summit.
They discussed enhancing opportunities of cooperation between the two countries as Commonwealth Partners in areas of shared interest, including strengthening trade and tackling the impact of climate change.
They also assessed the progress made so far in the negotiations between Mauritius and the United Kingdom on the exercise of sovereignty over the Chagos Archipelago.
Both Prime Ministers agreed to meet again soon.
