Heavy Rain warning Bulletin for Mauritius issued at 10h00 on Tuesday 19 December 2023,
valid till 04h00 Wednesday 20 December 2023.
A Heavy Rain Warning is in force in Mauritius.
The atmospheric conditions remain moist and unstable over our region, thus conducive for the
formation of thunder clouds.
Moderate to heavy showers with thunderstorms are expected over the island, becoming more
frequent in the afternoon.
There will be water accumulations in flood prone areas.
The visibility may be reduced in fog and showers in certain regions.
The public is advised to:
1. remain in safe places and avoid open areas, hikings, sea ventures and sheltering under trees
during thunderstorms.
2. avoid places prone to water accumulation.
3. be very cautious on the roads due to reduced visibility.
