Several lows are still evolving within the active Monsoon trough located along 15 degrees south over the South-West Indian Ocean.
One of these tropical lows is likely to develop to the north of the Mascarene further by Sunday 21 January.
Model forecasts are indicating that this low will intensify further and track south wards between Rodrigues and Mauritius.
Moist and unstable atmospheric conditions are expected to establish over Mauritius and in the region of Rodrigues as from Sunday 21 January 2024.
There are still significant uncertainties in both the track and intensity of the system.
