Après une première étape au Pakistan, KuCoin Campus a choisi de se concentrer sur le Nigeria. Le 29 janvier dernier, la Smiling Simon Greenbuild Foundation, FEYReP et un représentant de KuCoin ont distribué 100 lampes de lecture aux élèves du Cornelia Connelly College.
Ce don représente un geste de soutien réconfortant, et KuCoin a à ce jour offert 2 500 lampes solaires à 25 écoles du Nigeria. Cette initiative a été rendue possible grâce à la collaboration de la Smiling Simon Greenbuild Foundation, une organisation à but non lucratif qui se consacre à l’autonomisation des jeunes et des femmes. Elle a déclaré : « Notre objectif est de faire en sorte que chaque enfant vivant dans une zone rurale défavorisée reçoive une lampe solaire pour étudier le soir. Grâce à la puissance des lampes solaires, ils sont plus confiants dans la lecture et peuvent envisager l’avenir avec confiance. » Le Dr Okuribido a également exprimé sa gratitude envers KuCoin, qui a respecté son engagement en seulement une semaine.
Parmi les invités, était présente Son Excellence Martha Udom Emmanuel, fondatrice de FEYReP (Family Empowerment and Youth Re-Orientation Path-initiative, une organisation non gouvernementale à but non lucratif basée à Uyo, dans l’État d’Akwa Ibom, au Nigeria) et épouse du gouverneur de l’État d’Akwa Ibom. L’événement a rassemblé une centaine d’élèves qui ont participé à un échange d’idées, symbolisant l’espoir et l’avenir de l’éducation en Afrique.
La cérémonie de donation n’a pas seulement été un événement philanthropique, mais un testament de l’engagement de KuCoin à éclairer les jeunes esprits et leur avenir.
