Weather outlook for Mauritius and Rodrigues issued

A strong anticyclone is approaching the mascarenes from the South West and will influence the weather over Mauritius and Rodrigues as from Friday 02 June 2023. A rather cold and windy weather is expected as from Friday.

Weather Outlook for Mauritius for the period Friday 02 to Sunday 04 June:

Weather will be rather cloudy over the highgrounds and windward slopes with showers.
Along the coastal regions, it will be partly cloudy becoming cloudy at times with few showers.

A drop in the temperature of about 2 degrees Celsius below the long term mean is expected.
The expected maximum tempertures will be 19-22’C over the high grounds and 24-26’C elsewhere.

The minimum temperature will be 15-17’C over the high grounds and 18-21’C elsewhere.

The wind will strengthen gradually from the South East at 30km/h with gusts of the order of 60km/h.

The open sea will become rough beyond the reefs with waveheight reaching 3 metres. Ventures in the open sea and in the eastern and southern lagoons are not advised as from this Friday.

Weather Outlook for Rodrigues for the period Friday 02 to Sunday 04 June:

There will be cloudy periods with showers.A drop in the temperature of about 2 degrees Celsius below the long term mean is expected.
The expected maximum tempertures will be 22-24’C and the minimum temperature will be 18-20’C.The wind will strengthen gradually from the South East at 30 to 40 km/h with gusts of the order of 70km/h.

The open sea will become rough beyond the reefs with waveheight of the order of 3 metres. Ventures in the open sea and in the western, southern and eastern lagoons are not advised as from this Friday.
