Weather outlook for Mauritius and Rodrigues

A frontal system followed by a moderate anticyclone is approaching from the South-West will cross Mauritius on Sunday morning. The anticyclone will cause a rather cold and windy weather over Mauritius and Rodrigues after the passage of the frontal system.

After a relatively warm period where temperatures were 2 to 4 degrees Celcius above seasonal mean, a drop about 2 degrees Celcius is expected as from Sunday 18 June with a strengthening of the wind from the Southeast.

Weather Outlook for Mauritius for Sunday 18 and Monday 19 June 2023:

Showers are expected on Sunday especially in the morning.
There will be few passing showers to the East, South and over the Central Plateau on Monday.

Wind will strengthen from the Southeast at about 25 km/h with gusts of 60 km/h as from Sunday.
The open sea will become rough with waves of the order of 3 metres beyond the reefs with South-Westerly swells.

Ventures in the open sea and in the Western and Southern lagoons are not advised as from Saturday night.

Weather Outlook for Rodrigues for Sunday 18 June and Monday 19 June 2023:

The sky will become cloudy on Sunday afternoon with few showers.
As from Monday, there will be few showers mainly in the morning.

Wind will strengthen from the Southern sector at about 35 km/h with gusts of the order of 70 km/h as from Sunday afternoon.

The open sea will become rough with waves of the order of 3 metres beyond the reefs with South-Westerly swells.
Ventures in the open sea and in the Western and Southern lagoons are not advised as from this Sunday.
