Le Ministre du Transport va présenter en première lecture le 18 juin 2024 son projet d’amender le Road Traffic Act pour augmenter certaines offenses, les kawals lors des festivités religieuses, les rallyes illégaux de motocyclette entre autres.
The object of this Bill is to amend the Road Traffic Act to, inter alia –
(a)provide that where there is a transfer of ownership of a motorvehicle or trailer between 2 individuals or between such categoryof persons as may be prescribed, no certificat de gage sans déplacement would be required from the National Land TransportAuthority for the registration of the transfer of ownership by theRegistrar-General. Instead, the transfer of ownership will beregistered provided that the Registrar-General is satisfied,following verification on the database of the National LandTransport Authority, that the motor vehicle or trailer bears no lien;
(b)empower the Minister to make regulations to regulate the use ofstructures and objects that are, during a procession, carried,pushed, pulled or led on a road;
(c)increase penalties with regard to some offences.Opportunity is also being taken to clarify some other provisions of the Road Traffic Act.
